Continuous Learning Track and Faculty

The concept of Continuous Learning emerged from a conversation among the Directors of the Congress as we sadly realized that the meeting in Lugano will be the first meeting of the international Alexander Community with only one teacher directly trained by F.M, Alexander among us. Elisabeth Walker, who will be “93” years old in August 2008, plans to be with us in full spirit. Accompanying Elisabeth will be some of the next generation of teachers transmitting the work of F.M. Alexander. This Continuous Learning faculty has been selected for their diversity, experience, and dynamic contributions to the Alexander Technique. We have made every effort to be both selective and inclusive of all streams of our work.

The Continuous Learning track will be the core of the Congress and is scheduled from 9-10:30 AM for six days. This schedule allows each participant the opportunity to work with three different Continuous Learning faculty for two consecutive days. Selection of teachers will be done at registration in Lugano on a first come first serve basis. There are approximately 25 teachers on the faculty. Class size will be 30-40 participants based on the number of registrants. Some of the faculty will be team teaching and therefore will have larger working groups. Details regarding each Continuous Learning module are in preparation and will be available on the website as early as possible. This information will help you make your choices as you anticipate how you will spend your time at the Congress.

Below you will find the faculty list for the Continuous Learning module.
We have made every effort to include all streams of “the work”. Needless to say, the choices were difficult to make and we were limited to 20 because of room availability at the Congress Site in Lugano. We believe this list is remarkable. It demonstrates a depth of experience and a breadth of knowledge that will prove to be enriching for all of us.
