Robin Möckli & Mark Webster
Widening our Scope of Knowledge with Presence, Voice and Clarity as Tools
We will be looking at the points of contact between work on the voice, which is where Alexander began, presence as practiced in certain types of Tibetan meditation, as well as on the stage. Why does the Alexander Technique produce a state of presence on stage as well as in daily life? With the help of our combined experience in AT as applied to voice work, acting, and meditation we hope to provide some new insights and food for thought. This will be a practical workshop apart from some necessary explanations, involving work with partners and in small groups.
Mark Webster trained with P. Macdonald and P. Scott, qualifying in 1971. He has taught AT at the Zürich Theater Hochschule since 1973 and is currently involved in a research projekt examining the effect of the AT on acting ability. For all these years he has been intensely involved in Tibetan Buddhist meditation, and for some years also in AT teacher training.
Robin Möckli Webster studied with Walter and Dilys Carrington and Traute Weiss, qualifying in 1976. She has taught internationally, but mainly in Switzerland and has been training teachers since 1986 with Erwin Möckli.
