Glenn Swift
Directions in Storytelling
To publicise our work, we must all become storytellers - to tell Alexander's story, and more importantly, our own story of how we became fascinated with this work. Only our authentic voice will convince our public that we are any different to the thousand other Techniques available to them, so we must learn to speak only from our experienece. This workshop will remind participants how to stay with themselves in the act of presentation and not to be caught up with what we might think or feel should happen as and when we tell our story, or otherwise explain our work.
Glenn Swift qualified to teach in the first Australian training school in 1987. He began work immediately at the principle performance school in Western Australia where he taught for ten years before deciding to diversify and return to acting in film and television while maintaining a private practice. He has been in demand as a professional storyteller for as long as he has been teaching Alexander, and happily combines these skills in public presentations and in teacher training schools around the world. He teaches and lives in Perth, Western Australia, and visits Europe for three months each year.
