Letting yourself run - Looking at running from the perspective of gravity and support, perception and letting go

If we work with our directions in running, we directly effect the dynamics and qualities of its movement. In this workshop we will practice sensory awareness, trusting the ground and our reflexes for stabilisation, coordination and orientation. We will apply this to the activities of standing, walking and running and to the transition from one to the other. This will strengthen the rhythms of our movement and our ability to let go of our movement into space.

Torsten Konrad is practicing running for 20 years. He works as a choreographer, dancer and coach for psychosynthesis in Germany. He trained as an Alexander teacher with Chris Stevens and Nadia Kevan. Since 1998 he teaches the Technique in the dance department of the Folkwang Academy in Essen. Since 2001 he is assisting Nadia in her training course in Cologne.
