Teaching the Alexander Technique in the Business world
 
Do you want new challenges? Are you looking for a widening of your clientele? Teaching in companies is an exciting journey: having a map can smoothen the ride. If you want success to be at the end of the road, some prerequisite are necessary. After this presentation, you will have a clearer idea about what it requires to be successfully teaching in companies. You will be supported in your motivation by the knowledge of what to do and which skills to develop to enter the business world. You will have new insights ideas about which companies you can contact, how you can introduce the Technique and how you can actually teach it. You might make precious contacts with likeminded colleagues. With plenty of exemplas based on 300 teaching days in companies spread over 8 years with more than 500 participants.

Philippe Cotton (SVLAT & ATI) first trained as a lawyer and worked for 10 years as legal advisor. He then trained as an Alexander teacher in London with Margaret Edis and David Gorman and in Fribourg (Switzerland) with Robin and Erwin Möckli. Since 1994, he has developed a private practice in Lausanne, Switzerland.
In collaboration with Rosa Luisa Rossi, he has founded the « Think out of the Box » concept which aims at introducing companies to the tools of the Alexander Technique. In the last 10 years he has given more than 300 teaching days in 15 different companies. His business clientele includes handling staff - carrying heavy loads (rubbish collectors), working with heavy machines (woodcutters, installing heavy water pipes) - as well as people working in services (improving ergonomy when working at computers, improving ease and effectiveness when speaking and having to deal with stress, etc).
Since 2002 he also teaches the Technique in the Swiss drama school located in Lausanne.
