Janet Madell Feindel

Alexander Directed for Actors

The goal of this workshop is to help guide Alexander teachers who work primarily with actors to find creative and practical ways to present the AT work designed for an acting curriculum. The course will explore imaginative ways to present the AT ideas and how to apply these to text and acting issues, in ways that encourage flexibility, self observation and ease. Janet will also present ideas on how to build a supportive atmposphere of inquiry, rather tha one of judgmentalism.

Finding your Voice as an Alexander Teacher

Alexander created his approach initially as a way to deal with his vocal hoarseness as an actor. Many Alexander teachers are uncomforable about their own voice use and particularly when teaching or addressing groups. This workshop is designed to find creative ways to deal with this issue and help teachers become more comfortable as they embody their own voice, enabling them to talk about the technique with intelligence and passion.

Janet Madelle Feindel served as voice/text coach, alongside Cicely Berry, O.B.E, on the "The Jew of Malta" and "The merchant of Venice", starring F.
