Bring Semi Supine to Life - Teaching Active Rest

This workshop contains practical work. Come have a "lie down." Teaching large classes in university music and theater departments necessitated a way of introducing the principles of the Technique while engaging the students' constructive thinking. Learn a simple and easy way to inspire Awareness, Inhibition, and Direction when working with groups or in your private practice. A brief introduction to the process of "Active Rest" will be provided. Participants will be asked to play the role of student, gaining first hand experience. We begin the foundation for "Active Rest" in semi supine, then bring "Active Rest" to sitting, "Active Rest" standing, "Active Rest" walking. We explore directions keeping us well coordinated in whatever spatial movement we make.
